Olivia: Can Tie her Shoes

So John and I were just sitting here and Olivia was like look mommy and tied the strings to her PJ pants... My mouth literally dropped open and was like NO way do it again... I untied it and John was like No it was already tied when i gave it to her. So i told her Tie it Olivia and behold SHE DID IT. SO i stuck one of her shoes on her and taped her tieing her shoe!!!!! Olivia is just about 5 years old.... Im so proud of her..

Daddy & Atti

Its always nice when i get Atticus to sleep before 5pm... and today he put himself to sleep. He asked to sit on the bed next to daddy and watch spongebob. So i put it on.... He got really quiet and i thought he went out to the front room. Instead i find him here asleep laying agains daddys side while daddy is also asleep.


So its peacefully quiet in my home.. atleast for the next 45 minutes before i have to go get Olivia from school :)

I love it when they are sleeping.. I just love it.

Today:

I am a busy busy bee but that isnt stopping me from taking the time to blog...lol This is my 5 minutes of ME time...lol and by me time i mean sitting here blogging about nothing. I have a hour and a half before Olivia gets out of school. Then i get to do errands, clean, get Caylee and the two neighbor kids from school and prepare to leave for a photoshoot i have this evening.

The photoshoot this evening is for Traci, Her little boy is turning one in a week so we are doing smash cake photos. I am doing them a little different this time. Getting a little more creative. :)

So I am sure in the next few days i will be sharing some of the photos..You know me.. Cant pass up a moment to share photos... ok im off to make lunch and clean up the niice mess Atticus made with his toys...

Thats right only 10 days until Olivia turns 5 and we have her birthday party!!! I really hope that the ones we invited show up!!! Either way i know that she will have her brothers and sisters there along with Grandma Anna and Uncle Robert!!!

Sweet Indulgence

There is nothing better than coupling together sweet carmel with the crisp tasty sweet and tart granny smith apples... Oh wait there is! Its Called a Apple Smore.

what you will need:

1 marshmellow
2 carmels
2 slices of Apple ( 1/2 inch thick)
*or if you want to be lazy use ready made packs of Carmel dip*

What you need to do:

Its real simple, the kids could even do it. {although i dont reccomend they do the Marshmellow part}

• 
  
  first you get a plate
• 
  
  then put marshmellow followed by carmels on scew.
• 
  
  Toast over heat until starting to melt.
• 
  
  Slide marshmellow and Carmels on bottom apple slice
• 
  
  top with other apple slice and enjoy

Now if you use the ready made Carmel dipping sauce just toast the marshmellow and put on the apply and pour the Carmel sauce over marshmellow top with other slice and enjoy.

This really is a goey mess but its soo delicious and a great way to get the kids to eat alittle more fruit! We did this tonight at the house... They really needed a bath afterwards because it is messy...but they enjoyed it and it was one way to get Olivia and Atticus to eat a granny smith. usually they are just a tad too tart for them :)

A Moment as a Deputys Wife

So yea my blog is titled Family Behind His Badge yet its actually been a while since ive blogged any "deputy" related stuff. That is simply because On the LE front things have been smooth and quiet. Nothing has been going on. Nothing to stress me out and worry about Mr. Deputy at all.

So i have turned to random posts and family posts. After all it is about our life. Right?

Zero to Hero

So we rented a couple movies out of the Red Box this week. Been watching 1 each day...lol

First up I rented Mad Money, It was actually a pretty funny and light hearted movie. None the less I am glad i just spent a dollar to rent it instead of teh twenty buying it..

Second Movie was Push, WHAT a trip. Full of weird things, action, alittle twisted romance Perfect!

The Last Movie was Knowing. I dont know if i was just too tired to watch it but i only remember the first 10 minutes of the movie and then waking up the next morning.

So yea, anyway I am happy to report in other news that Olivia has gone both days this week being dropped off in school without crying. SCORE. Maybe it was just a rough transition week for her. :) Yesterday evening i took the kids out to the pool with a neighbor and her son, lets just say you find some interesting people at the pool...lol

I really dont know how to describe what i saw them doing other than it shouldnt have been happening with a pool full of kiddos. I would like my children to be around G or at the most PG related stuff at the pool. Anyway.

I have lots happening in the rest of my week, Wednesday is pretty much the only relax day, Thursday i have a photoshoot for a birthday, Friday is a swim party at a friends, Then the weekend and gearing up for Olivias birthday party on the 9th.  anyway Im off to do some arts with my son... and enjoy the 3 hour break from no fighting kids!

My first Quilt, For Baby Sabrina...

So today i made it my task to get the quilt together for My Almost here Neice Sabrina. Johns Sister Pamela is 37 weeks pregnant and sitting  at 4.5cm dialated and 80% effaced.... Come on Baby Sabrina!!!! So anyway I have One more Quilt to make but i wont do it till the kids go to bed.. Well I will atleast start on it....

Getting the Sewing Machine Ready to go for 6 hours of sewing today..lol I think it was well worth it. Not perfect in every way but Its a gift from the heart.

After all the squares where cut and ready to go it was time to start pinning and getting it all nice and laid out to sew

Sewing is actually very relaxing to me.. So is my knitting.. atleast when the kids are in my face...lol

Olivia Stopped by after school to help me finish making Sabrina's Quilt... See her nice fat lip?? she got it from the glass coffee table....

A glance into my personal space

First off Let me just forwarn you that since i took these at night i had to use my flash and therefore Crappy photos...lol

I decided that i wanted to decorate our bedroom and master bathroom. I needed to break up the WHITE. since we cant paint eh i have to decorate. Im not finished with the bathroom yet either so just a sneak peak..

Now on to the Bedroom. First off Excuse the black blob on the bed, its covering something i forgot was there..lol and the dirty mirror.. apparently kids have been touching it and i didnt know until the flash went off...lol

Details on the curtains. They match the bedding.. Its a light teal blue with brown. Our bed is Cherry Wood I thought they all went well together. The rod for the curtain is silver metal. I thought it would be a nice accent to all the teal and brown and Cherrywood.

So its been about a week

Since i blogged last.. OMG sorry!!! This last week of school has completely gotten me side tracked. After the first day of school this year its been a rough week. Trying to get the girls on schedule with waking up early and going to be early has been rough. Plus Olivia has been resisting going to school everyday. She crys when i drop her off in class its to the point that i have to just hand her to her teacher and walk out. and for anyone that knows me you know that is extremely hard for me to do :(

I even had John take her on thursday and it was rough for him as well. So much for thinking that daddy taking her would be easier for her.. NOPE. Friday she didnt cry. she was actually a big girl about it. So i am hoping that Come tomorrow she wont cry either!!!!

Now Caylee has been doing alright this first week. She is having a tad bit of trouble paying Attention during class. She was sitting in the back and i had her teacher move her to the front so she cant day dream off...lol

So tomorrow starts the 2nd week of school.. hopefully it goes well :) So your probably wondering why i am back on blogger? Well the Viviti site just wasnt working for me.. I have tried to post 3 times this week and the site has been down. I know i should have never strayed from my blogger..... Why leave a good thing ya know....lol :P

Oh Crabby day...lol

So Ive been completely slacking on writing blogs. Guess there really isnt a really a reason other than the fact that i am busy with kids and working on helping a friend with her website. That and I am trying to battle my weight. So far the weight is winning..... Olivia had a hard time in class this morning with not wanting me to leave. Yikes! I think it was mostly because she was tired...I had a hard time getting her to go to sleep lastnight. Started the process right at 7pm and she STILL didnt go to bed until 11. ugh. Her party is just about 2.5 weeks away and i am trying to finish all the details with that. I mailed her invites out today! So be on the look out!! Well maybe more later.. have to go clean and junk Desiree

Its a beautiful day to start kindergarten & 4th Grade

So it was the girls first day of school today for the 2009-2010 school year! Caylee is officially in the 4th grade and Olivia is officially a Kindergartener now! Olivia will attend class from 7:55am-11:31am and Caylee attends 8:15am-2:35pm. I will love it next year when i dont have to deal with pick up traffice twice in one day everyday for 5 days out of the week...lol

So we got up early this morning at 6am and had breakfast, brushed teeth and got uniforms on. Did hair and watched some cartoons. Then at 7:15am we headed out the door for the school. Daddy and Atticus came along. Daddy forfeited alittle extra sleep to see Olivia start her school year! Which made it nice because now i have photos of him with her on her special day.

We got to the school early and i took some photos while the girls waited around. Once the gate was open Olivia headed for her classroom door and I said goodbye to Caylee as she walked to her classroom. I felt a little bad for just having her go to her room. But Olivia needed me at that moment and Caylee is a little older now. Plus John was dealing with a fussy Atticus whos routine was disrupted this morning. So I got Olivia into her classroom she put her backpack in her cubby with her name on it and found her seat at her assigned table. The teacher told them to start coloring the page that sat on the desk in front of them and Olivia did just as her teacher asked

It was really cute!!! I took a few more photos and then decided to leave. I said bye to her and she was like Bye Mommy see u later! and that was it. No fussing or wanting me to stay. I managed to hold back the tears until i was half way to the car. I let a couple roll and then wiped the rest away. Got to the car and put the camera away and then grabed John and Atticus and told them lets go see Caylee. Ididnt want her to think that her day wasnt important either. So we walked to her classroom.




Her eyes lite up when she saw me and i gave her a big hug and kiss and told her to enjoy her first day and i would see her later. I hope that my doing that will let her know that today was just as important for her as Olivia its just that Olivia needed me alittle more and that i cant be in two spots at the same time.



So thats is how our morning went. and now its 10:36am and almost time for me to get Olivia from class and see how her day went. It feels a little weird saying that...lol I cant believe that two out of the three of my kids are in school now... Time really does fly.. Here are a couple more photos from this morning

For The Love of Family

So Ive been taking all the slides of photos that Johns Dad has taken over there years and Putting them on the computer. Its been a really fun and fantastic way to see my husbands past. It also gives me a chance to save these photos for my children as they get older so they know their family history. I really need to talk to my mom and see if i cant get the family photos from her so the kids can have my side too.
Friday(july 16th) was Olivia's Kindergarten Orientation. When we got there she has this look of fear in her eyes when i was walking her to her class line so the teacher could take the kids into the classroom while the principal talked to the parents. It was kinda sad and i kept myself from crying. I knew if i cried she would. When i went to pick her up from the classroom she didnt want to leave. I got to meet and talk with her Teacher and that really put some of my uneasyness aside.
So tomorrow is the last day of summer vacation and i am going to let the kids enjoy some swimming! Well thats about it.. I need to go do some laundry and stuff and finish getting their stuff organized for school!!!

4 years Later

As i stood yesterday night at the playground on the Drive in Property,while my children ran around and played until Harry Potter and The Half blood Prince started I was thinking What a long way i have come. Just 4 short years ago John and I had a almost 1 year old daughter together and my daughter Caylee was 5.5 years old. We got married just shortly after gaining custody of Melanie Johns Child with Lindsay. The way in which we got married {in a small county recorders office ceremony} was to just get it done so we could have legal rights over the children in the house. On July 15th 2005 I became Mrs. John and the instant mother to a 5.5 year old girl, a 3 year old boy, a almost 1 year old girl and a 4month old girl with Atticus showing up a little over a year later. At the time people thought i was crazy; perhaps i was alittle off. but now as i watch my oldest child go down the slide with my youngest child; and i turn the other direction to see my husband pushing our daughter on the swing and her yelling weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee and I love this Daddy I know i am truly where i am suppose to be in my life.




I have a family that loves me. A husband that would do anything for me because he wants to see me happy; I have my father in my life once again. Life couldnt be better. My girls are getting ready to start school on Monday July 20th. and it will just be the little man and i for a few hours everyday. I really do have a sweet life.



To my Husband of 4 years; I love you more than anything. You complete me; even though we are strong willed individual we make a pretty darn good team.



To our Children; Mommy and Daddy Love you very very much.



To all the haters out there that willed our marriage not to survive WE SURE DID SHOW YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

When Life is in front of you

Staring right in your face, what do you do? Do you look it straight into its eyes? Do you coward away and try to ignore the reality it brings? Do you try to avoid the negative and only see the positive? Do you wish that it would go away and come back on a different day? Do you thank god for all you have and all that you will gain with each passing day?.




Life is often taking twists and turns that dont always give us forwarning. Its up to our individual strengths to make sure that we make it through. I havent always been a positive and loving person. My husband has brought the majority of my love for others to the surface. When he and I first had Olivia i had alot of resentment inside of me. My resentment had built up for so long; most of my childhood and adult life. I realize that yes i am only 28 years old so i have really only been a adult for 10 years {on the technical aspect}. But my soul has been a adult for a lot longer. The childhood that i lived shaped me into the adult that i was {really my childhood wasnt as bad as others were, but i had enough traumatic experiences that will remain with me forever} and My husband shaped me into the adult I am today.



One might ask what the difference the last 4 years have made in the type of adult i am. Well its made all the difference in the world. Now I look each day in the eyes and face each and everything that it has to bring. Before I would coward away and try to avoid life. I was mean and selfish and only cared about one thing, one person and that person was me. Now after 4 years of being with a caring and giving man i am able to be the person i was meant to be. A person that loves helping others and that sacrifices herself on a daily basis. I wouldnt call me Mother Teresa or anything.



I am still a work in progress...lol not that i am ever going to be a mother Teresa.

Getting Close to School Starting

The Girls are getting close to starting school so this weekend was used for getting the last minute lunch boxes, paper,pens and supplies! Its fantastic. In one week i will have a kindergartener and a 4th grader. Time really does fly by! I have some photos to share but i am in the middle of cooking so it will have to wait! TTFN

RIP Princess Fishy

Olivia's Fish "princess" has officially gone to fish heaven. I was in the bedroom organizing some stuff tonight and walked into the living room to ironically clean the fish bowl and get her in some cleaner water and feed her. When i saw her floating there i turned to Olivia who was looking t me wided eyed as she exclaims 'Fishy Princess is Dead'. I looked back at the fish on the counter dead in her bowl with the fish net next to it and a over turned laundry basket next to the counter.




I asked Olivia What she did with Fishy. So said nothing mommy i just took her out to play. :( Ohhhh dear we never explained to her that you cant take fish out of their water bowl and play with them. So my guess is she took her out to play and when she stopped moving she got scared and put her back :( Poor fish had a horrible gasping death...... So Olivia Atticus and I took "princess" to the toilet bowl she she could start her trip down the pipes to fishy heaven.



Now Olivia wants a puppy....

New Website New love

We are now at a new website. Its time to say goodbye to blogger and hello Viviti. Its alot easier to manage! and I just love it!!!! Anyway we are all doing very well. just getting ready for the girls to start school in exactly one week! Our Anniversary is on Wednesday! I couldnt be happier! So here is our new family site!

For the Love of old photos

I absolutely LOVE old photographs... I just love them. Its a way too look at the past and see your wife;husband;parents and grandparents as they use to be.




<-------- is J my darling husband. In a search of boxes of slides i discovered this photo and like 5 slides of his FIRST birthday.



Who ever says my kids look nothing like their father has obviously NEVER seen this photo..... I see each one of the kids in this photograph. Each of the 4 of them. William Olivia Melanie and Atticus all have a little something from their dad. Atticus has more than the others i think with a flare of mommy in him.

This is a photograph of Johns Mom. My kids grandma and I see SO much of Melanie in this photo. Not so much any of the other kids but Melanie has definately taken on some of the characteristics of her Grandma!!!!

Birthday Party Planning

Ok Seriously there comes a point and a time where the party planning should be less stressful. I {thought} I was at that point with Livy's 5th birthday...lol guess not. I got the Invites all ready to go they are just sitting here waiting to be mailed out :P Score i usually dont have that done this early in the game...lol




Party Favors are on their way as I type this.... BUT the Bags... ok my bright idea was to make the bags handmade.. I cant figure out how to scale the things properly so they will be just a tad smaller than the actual page so everything will fit in the bags. So i give up for right now.. I really hope i dont end up having to buy bags...... I still have a few more weeks to get it straight! Lets hope i can.... I still have to find her a gift; order the cake; get plates and forks; and get the drinks.



I decided to go really simple this year and have a hour and a half playtime at a Jump Palace aka {a bunch of Jump Houses in a big room} and then a hour "party" time in the partyroom. Serving Cake and drinks while Livy opens presents and people chat... then it will be time to give goody bags and send everyone home! SCORE simple.. easy peasy..... if the template for the bags will cooperate.

The Love of Grandpa

So even though Olivia just met her grandpa 2 days ago she cant stop talking about him... She loves him to death and has asked to see him everyday since he came to visit.




She is wanting me to print this pic out for her ---------> and put it in her room...lol She really likes this one of just her and her Grandpa. Well actually Atticus is in this pic to she just wanted him cropped out because its HER grandpa.



My kids can be soo cute sometimes. Ive been uber busy Helping the creator of Police Wives Unite get the Merchandise shop up and running! Just a little while longer and it will be ready. Plus Ive done gotten sucked into The Sims 3 game... OMG i have to play it everyday.. man a new addiction... Scary...haha



In exactly one week its J's and I anniversary!?!?!?!?!? How did we make it this long. I will tell you... in a week...hahaha Ok i just wanted to get back on track with my blogging ive been slacking. Bad Desiree.... Tomorrow we are going to look at apartments. One is right across from the girls school the other is down by J's Moms house. So we shall see which one we apply for.



I know Im suppose to be going more north but right now we just cant. Its not possible. :) Friday I have a swim party/hangout/date to go to with the girls... Im looking forward to it. Its been soo long since ive seen this set of friends.... Well im off to bed. 2am.. jeeeze at least its not 3 or 4.

Morning with my Dad

This morning the kids and I got a special visit from my dad. This was the first time since i was 8 years old that i have seen him. He got to meet J and his grandbabies and just hang out for a while. It was a really nice visit.




I was expecting it to be a little awkward and uncomfy but it wasnt. The kids took to him really easily like he has always been in their lives and not just meeting them for the first time. It was nice to just to have him here.

The girls really loved him. Olivia parked it on grandpa's lap the entire time and didnt want him to leave when he had to start heading back to the Bay Area. Atticus took a while to warm up to him; but thats normal for Atticus to do that with any new person in his life.




Caylee was all about trying to figure out how he was her grandpa yet she had never seen him before...lol She seemed to be amazed that YES i do have a dad...lol Now can you see where i get most of my looks from.. I have my Dad's smile thats for sure. Although i didnt think to have john take a photo of my dad and I before he went to lay down.

Oh well next time I see him i will make sure of it. Im not sure when that will be. Most likely after he gets settled with my grandmother and then i will be able to go down and see him and meet all my family on his side.




So this really made my week to have such a positive meeting with my dad. I really needed to see him and i am glad that it was possible!
