Good Bye 2009 Hello 2010

So As we say goodbye to 2009 and ring in 2010 I have been thinking alot about wether or not to set some new year resolutions. I have decided that I am really not going to set any. Instead i will just state my goals for this coming year and see how they pan out.

My First goal is to keep up with my Project 365 {a photo a day for a year} which you can find here For Project 365 click here you can follow my progress as i go along!

My Second goal is to acheive happiness. Complete happiness. I really need to find my nack and go with it. I think that this goes well with my first goal. seeing as how this is going to help me decide wether i want to continue on with my photography or if i just want to let it all go.

My Third goal is health related; i really need to get this excessive weight off. i think once i do that i will feel 100% better. so my goal is to loose the 95lbs sitting over my head.

My Fourth and final goal is to go back to school. Although i know that i want my end goal to be somewhere in the Law field { i want to be a lawyer but thats just not possible with  my kids and putting us too far into debt} So i am looking into Criminal Justice courses that could help me get into the Prison system for a career or maybe probation and parole. Im not sure yet but I will be doing this.

So i have no clue whats up with my blog... Its not posting the date of my posts :( Maybe and i am really hoping that this is a glitch.... Its hard to see what day i am posting this on for you all that read my blog. So for now i will put the date in my tittle so you all know when exactly i posted this :)

We got a new family member today... Her name is Princess... she is a cute little brown guinea pig. We got her from a friend that wanted her to have a home that she got attention and love in. So far so good she is alittle scared so when she perks up and isnt soo scared anymore i will get some photos of her. and YES Miss O named her Princess....lol

Other than that we have just been enjoying the rest of winter break. Monday Miss O goes back to school. Sunday Mr Deputy goes back to work and i start the process of finishing up Mr A's paperwork for Preschool. I have some more news on Miss O and her education stuff but i will post that after the holiday!!!!

Reunited- The love between two little ones....

In our old neighborhood Miss O made a really close friend named X. They played almost every single day give or take... They loved being around each other and I loved being around his mom, she was the first chill kick back woman i have met in a LONG time. Anyway so when we moved the kids were sad that they wouldnt see each other. Although it took them a while to grasp the concept of it.

I actually lost touch with X and his mom since i had 2 phone number changes in the short month and a half we had lived in the new place. Luckily She found me on goodreads.com and we were able to reconnect. Since i didnt just want to show up at her place.

So today Miss O and X got to meet up and play at Macdonalds for a good 4 hours... It was Love at first reunited site:
Even after two months its like they were never seperated!

They were all kissy and huggy with each other. It was fantastic and it was Fantastic to be able to just sit with his mommy and enjoy my time with her as well!

I forgot how much i  missed our conversations while the kids play....

So we have plans to get together wednesday and let the kids play while we watch a movie and chat!

I'm truly blessed as is Miss O to have X and his mommy in our lives!

A Message From Miss O....

video

So yea  I had to help her along but here is the Beautiful Miss O Wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New year!!! So this will more than likely be our last post until after the Christmas Holidays! We have TONS of work to do to get ready for the 10 people that will be over christmas day! :)

Getting Ready for Preschool....(part two)

So Part One is here Click Me

I got the Call this morning that Mr A has been approved on the CEL {Centeralized Eligibility List} for preschool, now we can move on to the next step of finishing up paperwork and Getting his bloodwork and TB test. I also have to go get his birth certificate as well {yea yea i know we still havent gotten a copy of it but we havent had a need until Now}.

So now I just need to call and make him a appt with his ped for all that. Its fantastic news. Mr A is one step closer to starting preschool and since we got approved for State preschool thats even better. Because you wouldnt believe the costs of it out here in California. Its insane. $460 for 3 days/ 3 hours a day a month if you want them to go 5 days a week its $700-900 a month.

With the state preschool they go 5 days a week 3 hours each day and parents have to put 1.5 hours in the class room a month at minimum. So one day a week i will spend with Miss O in her class and One day a week i will spend in Mr A's class. This is going to be great. 2010 is going to start off GREAT!!!!!

I hope that he will excell in Preschool and enjoy it! I know mommy is going to enjoy these 3 hours of alone time each and everyday!..... stay tuned for Getting Ready for Preschool {part three} and the start of Preschool Dayz posts!!!

I am really going to try to stick to this project and Do a photo a day. I tried this back in 2007 but got side tracked.. This time i am not. They will all be SOOC images as well NO editing. The only editing will be to add the Day number to them. And Hopefully as the year progresses we can see a good difference in my photography :)

The Kids-My Birthday-Chaos...lol

This is my Oldest Miss C Next month she will be 10 years old. I can not believe i have a lmost 10 year old :)

Last Night the girls spent the night at my friends house since her daughter was having a slumber party for Christmas.

So they got to have some fun. I picked them up at noon today and when we got back to the house the kids were playing on the couch so i took a few photos.

<--- as you can see Miss C still has her Black hair from halloween.

Semi perm hair dye my a$$...

Mr A was crawling all over Miss C... He really misses his sissy when she is at my moms. {some of you might not know that i let her go live at my moms since Miss O is having some learning problems and My attention is all on her so Miss C is with my mom so she can get the help she needs and the one on one I cant right now}

Anyway, Its nice to have all 3 of my babies here today. I sorta miss all the chaos the three of them bring to the house :) So now its officially 5 days till christmas YAY i cant wait for them to get their gifts :)

<---- My 2 goofy girls actually showing some sisterly love. its rare :)

So anyway we are just going to relax around the house and have dinner. Nothing special for my birthday.

My mom bough me a Dining Table for Bday/Xmas. YAY now i dont have to sit my kids around the coffee table anymore.

Of course Getting Mr A to cooperate and sit for a meal isnt going all that well. Hopefully it will be easier at dinner though im not holding my breath.

So the last photo of this post is my 3 little monsters all together and of course Mr A has to be a butt and not look. Oh well :)

I hope everyone has a wonderful Holiday. Im sure i wont be posting much this coming week since my mom switched plans and now i am doing christmas dinner here at our house which means i have a few days to organize, clean and shop for a dinner I wasnt prepared to make.....

hehehe

Happy Birthday Mrs. Deputy

Yes thats right folks I am 29 years old today. 29 ONE year away from 30...lol Hopefully today will bring some relaxation to my table and allow me some much needed rest!

So since i have yet to scan baby photos of myself onto my computer. Actually i have yet to even ask my mom for some...lol you get a couple highschool photos of me. When i was young and skinny and in my pre-mommy days :)

Yep thats me all young and in 10th grade:)

sometimes i miss the simple days of worrying about what to wear and what we were doing after school..:)

Goofing it up in class. What can i say paying attention was never my strong suit.

haha

So now here i am with 2 of my 3 babies.... This is what i have become. this is my life...and i wouldnt change it for nothing!

Happy Birthday TO ME!!!!

Its a School Christmas Party:

So the past two days have been pretty darn busy. I have started working in Miss O's classroom as a teacher helper on Thursday. It went really really well. Of course with 20-5year olds i was worn out by the time school let out...lol Yesterday was their class Pj Holiday party :)

Im not posting any of the whole classroom shots because they are not my children and since my blog is open for just anyone to see all you get is pics of Miss O.

<------- She colored a pretty Christmas tree :)

They did lots and lots of activities. They colored a Tree, Made Flower Gift bags for the pretty gingerbread photo frames we made the day before, They made Santa bags for all their goodies to go in to take home, they made Letters to santa, a rudolph bag and coloring book they decorated a cookie to eat that the end of the class.

I took each kids photo with the teacher for their kindergarten memories book for the end of the year. It was a fantastically busy and fun day!

Here she is eating her cookie she decorated.... It was funny to watch her decorate it and be so neat and precise with how she spread the icing on and how she put ont he sprinkles.

She was one of the few kids in the class that was actually neat about it... Most of them had Sprinkles galore...LOL :) ------------>

They sang Rudolph the red nose reindeer while eating their lunch on the carpet since it was too cold to eat outside.

There was a good turn out of parents which was fantastic because i dont think we would have got everything done with them if their hadnt been :)

<----- Last but not least is Miss O's Photo with Mrs A. She was showing off her Rudolph bag she made :)

So today we have 2 yes 2 parties to go to. I have to pick up Miss C at her tutoring session and head to party one.. a birthday party for a friends child. Then we get to come home for a brief second and head out to another friends Christmas party :)

Plans for Christmas Day changed and i am now hosting at my house. Which means now i have to go out and get my Dinner shopping done. YIKES...lol

I guess i will get the second week of Miss O's winter break to just veg out and relax.So much to do so little time. I am just glad my shopping is done {other than Christmas Dinner}

I wonder what tomorrow will bring Oh yea thats right... A Birthday.... But for who I wonder:

Guacamole.. Yummy

Here is what you will need:

  • 4 avocados
  • 3 small limes or 1 large lemon
  • 1jalepeno pepper (seeds taken out)
  • small handful of cilantro
  • 15 grape tomatoes
  • quarter of a red onion
  • 1 teaspoon of Sour Cream
  • dash of garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste
Now that we have all the fresh yummy ingredients its time to move on to making the Guacamole.

What you do:
  • Spoon out all of avocado into a medium bowl.
  • using a potato masher mash avocado till desired chunkiness is reached
  • juice limes or lemon over avocado. add garlic powder salt and pepper and mix well
  • dice up grape tomato finely and add to bowl
  • repeat with cilantro, jalapeno and onion.
  • mix well
  • add teaspoon of Sour cream and mix well
  • refrigerate for 1-2 hours and enjoy!
* so I use Grape tomatoes because they are small and are the right size and texture that we like. I also dice the onions up really small too as we don't usually like raw onion.

* When I am making this for my husband and kids I use 1 jalapeno pepper (med sized) per 4 avocados so its not too spicy. When I make this just for myself I use 2 Peppers per 4 avocados. I tend to like things hot though :)

Hope Everyone is Enjoying the Super Bowl!

Getting Ready for Preschool (part one)-

Today Mr A went to his dental exam that was needed before he starts preschool :) He loved playing in the playroom with all the toys, bikes and video games.

His last dental exam didnt go very well. He screamed the whole entire time and thrashed around and made it very difficult the entire time. needless to say it was a tramautic experience for him and a embarrasing one for me.

I was hoping this time would go better....

<--- More in the playroom

Last one in the playroom waiting------->

So Once we got into the room it was a different story. He wanted nothing to do with anything. Atleast he didnt start crying. Instead he yelled NO to every question she asked him. She really wanted to get xrays of his teeth but he wasnt having that either. One thing i love about where we go for dental exams is that they dont force the kids to do anything that makes them uncomfy. Like Xrays.....

So straight into the room we went....

He tucked himself into the corner behind me. I literally had to pick him up and put him on the chair so the Dentist could count and look at his teeth.

I had to hold his arms down while she cupped his head and brushed his teeth and put the floride treatment on.

Once she was done he was happy and just wanted to go back to the playroom. So off he went while i checked him out and got my paperwork for the preschool.

Now i have to go back at 4:30pm for Miss Os check-up... she should be easy! Well I hope!

Once we got in the car to come home he was saying Mommy Cheeeeese i wanna picture..... My teeth is pretty...LOL Maybe he wasnt so traumatized this time. I surely wasnt as embarrassed as i was the first time. Hopefully in 6 months he will be ok too when we go back :)

So thats One appt down for this preschool stuff. The next thing we have to do is take him to the Dr for bloodwork and a eye and hearing exam. Also a TB test... Yea thats not going to be fun. I think i will make sure that Mr Deputy goes with us and helps me out when he gets his blood work done...... Because i dont want to be the bad guy for that one :(

On the Potty front we got rid of all diapers completely 7 days ago and it was the BEST decision we ever made. He hasnt had one accident and is FINALLY pooping on the potty by him self with no fights! Im so happy to be a diaper free mommy!

Stay tuned for Getting Ready for Preschool (part two).....

Monday Madness...

It was nice to have a morning that Miss O wasnt fighting me on going to school. This has been a first since her transfer to her new school. I think it helped that this morning we sat down after breakfast and made her teacher a christmas card. She drew a picture of herself for her teacher and wrote her name. It was a premade christmas card with Miss Os touch to it.

Of course since it is Monday that means that I was running behind.... Every Monday i seem to get behind...LOL This time it was because i got Miss O ready and decided there was enough time to get online and work on the new look and feel to my blog.. yea time passes so quickly when your on the internet.... So i had to rush myself to get ready to drive her to school. She got there with 4 minutes to spare before it was time to line up and start her day.

Usually i get the whole i dont want to go mommy thing but not this morning. She walked in with a smile handed her teacher her card she made and ran off and played. Didnt even linger at my side. That was a nice change I really didnt feel so horrible walking away today...

So now i am at home playing around while Mr A watches Mickys Playhouse on tv. I am a tad under the weather today. woke up feeling less than energetic. I dont know if Im just worn down or if i am getting a cold or what. It could be the yummy Mexican food i ate lastnight. I havent had such rich dense food in a while so that could be whats upsetting my system. Or it could all be because of the Migraine that came yesterday and wont leave. talk about uninvited guest....lol

After school i am going to go to the store with the kids and get a ginger bread house kit. we make one each year and i thought it would be a nice activity to do this evening before bed or tomorrow evening. I havent decided which day yet...but you know i am going to post pics :)

well i am off to get my spaghetti sauce started for dinner.. I cant wait to smell it all simmering all afternoon. YUM.

11 days until Christmas

I have been so stressed out the past month or so because of the upcoming holiday. When really it should be about spending time with family thats not how "christmas" is marketed to the kids. My daughter would point out all the things in the toy stores that she wants Santa to bring her and it was putting alot of stress on me.

Why? Because I am the type of mother that wants to give my children everything that they want. Not that i want them to be spoiled, I want them to understand the hard work it takes for us to be able to give them the things they want. Christmas is the one time of the year that i feel like i should spoil them. Other than their birthdays. This year has been a particulary rough year for us financially.

With Mr Deputys dept making them take X amount of furlow hours and the sudden absence of OT available it really put a crunch into our living style. I mean we dont live beyond our means AT ALL but there just really isnt any extra room for things. 2 Months ago i listed a item on craigslist to try to get it sold. People would call and make appts to meet and see the item etc but then would flake on me.

Yesterday i had decided to just pull my listing from CL and forget about it. Until the afternoon when a man called and wanted my items. He actually showed up. I told him i was so grateful to him for not flaking and for buying my items so i can give my kids a actual Christmas.

So yesterday evening since Miss O is at my moms for the weekend Mr A and I went shopping. YES i took Mr A with me because he forgets as soon as we get in the house. So lastnight i spent 2 hours wrapping gifts and putting them under the tree. This morning waking up looking at the tree allowed so much stress to just go away.

So now in 11 days I will be waking up to see my childrens smiling faces as they open up their gifts and enjoy their new things :)

"Product"tive Sunday...

So Today is Sunday and I am trying to get back on the Product Buzzing. So today i am going to buzz about The BlackBerry!

I am totally in love with mine. Its fantastic and my provider has TV on it where i can play cartoons and shows for the kids when in the store and they are getting restless etc.

This is going to be a really short post but I LOVE LOVE LOVE my blackberry. I have suggested it to a couple friends that have also fallen in love with it. Mr Deputy got one when we signed up with our new provider and LOVES his as well and he really isnt all that interested in phones usually...LOL

News, News, News....

So I have a few blog worthy news announcements. Mostly on my children and then On this blog.

So lets start with Mr A first shall we:

Mr A is going to be starting preschool in January. I went to the school district office to see if there were any preschool programs that we would qualify for. Luckily they raised the income limits which is allowing me to enroll Mr A in State Preschool :) this is fantastic. Mr A has been wanting to go to school for a while now.

Secondly Mr A's Potty training is going VERY well. He is in undies 100% now. hasnt had any accidents with peeing the bed. His only problem is he wont go #2 on the potty. Lastnight we sat for 25 minutes before he gave in and went #2. I dont know if he is scared of going or what. So we are getting that down slowly. Hopefully by the time its time to start preschool he will be able to successfully go #2 on the potty if he has too.

* so that is the News with Mr A....YAY *

Now onto Miss O, Her news is that every thursday i will now be the parent helper in her class. :) I will be there for the whole class to help the teacher with whatever she needs. I am super excited about this because now i get the chance to see what all is happening in the classroom and how Miss O is treated etc etc... This coming friday (dec 18th) is their class Christmas Pajamma Party! Miss O is excited at the idea of going to school in her jammies!!! I will be there to help that day too. It should be fun! I have to go pick up some jammies for myself. {well maybe not...idk yet}

SITE NEWS:

Starting January first my blog is going to have a new name. I have decided to move away from The family behind his badge name and start something new and fresh. I want 2010 to be a new start. and while i dont want to delete this blog so the URL will remain the same but when you come to the site you will no longer see The Family Behind His Badge at the top you will see something else. It shouldnt effect the people that are subscribed to my blog at all since i am not changing the web address {URL} just the display name on the blog :)

So now i must go. My oldest is having a Christmas party at her tutoring center and I have to get Miss O ready to go since school aged siblings are invited :) Have a happy weekend everyone!

Miss O and the Parent Teacher Conference

So this morning at 9am PST I had a conference with Miss O's kindergarten Teacher and the lady that facilitates academic testing and the full evaluations on children to see if they qualify for special education needs.

As expected Miss O is scoring well below grade standards. They scale 1-4 at this school 4 being the highest, 1 the lowest.Miss O has all 1's. Her teacher agreed about her having language problems.

She said other than her academics she is a outstanding student in her class, very polite and respectful towards the other students and she follows school rules. Her problem is she won't talk AT ALL in class.

I think maybe its her trying to adjust to her new surroundings. She has only been in this new school 23 days. So maybe after another month or so she will break out of this shell and talk.

As far as her testing. We will be filling out the paperwork next week and she will begin her testing process right after Winter break. So the first week or so of January. This makes me SOOO HAPPY.

So that's our parent teacher conference :)

Early Morning-

So I was woke up this morning at 4am by a rude caller. She was looking for a miguel and decided to argue with me when I told her there was no one here by that name she persisted on insisting that I was lying so I hung up on her.

When she called back I was called a B•tch for hanging up. So I hung up again. Now normally I would go off on her but decided not to waste my time. Rude people bother me.

So here it is 4:15am and I can't go back to sleep. So I decide to just start my day :) I got to enjoy a hot shower without interuptions. That was a blessing all in its self!! Haha.

I made some hot earl grey tea and made Miss O's lunch. Mr A woke up about 5am and went potty. I must say I am Sooo proud of him this is day/night 3 without diapers. We ran out and I decided ya know I'm just not going to buy anymore. He is doing well!!!

So here I sit blogging already this morning. The kitchen is clean laundry is done so this is me time. Blogging happens to be my way of de-stressing and sharing and journaling about life, my kids and whatever else I feel like sharing.

I have to say to those that follow me: Thanks for reading my blog:) and to those that I follow: I read your blogs I really do each day I sit down and catch up on what you all write. I may not comment on everyone of your posts BUT I am reading :).

I have fell in love with the blogging world and I stumble across a lot of new and interesting blogs all the time. There are some pretty interesting people out there haha.

This morning at 9am is Miss O's parent teacher conference. I have been both looking forward to and dreading this morning.I really dislike her teacher but I am hoping we can all agree that she needs the extra help and we can all understand just how special she is. The school pyshcologist, speech therapist and academic counselor will all be there as well.

Hopefully we can get her testing moved up sooner and get her a good stable plan that she will thrive with. So I am sure later today I will have a new blog happening. I try to stay away from multiple blogs a day. But I will make a exception for my daughters education :)

Ok now I am off. My blackberry is beeping left and right with emails to answer. Gosh I love this thing.

P.S.- if you see typos its because I'm blogging from the blackberry. Hahaha :)

Pringles,Sprite & Twilight

Having this Blackberry has become such a awesome thing. I have been using it to its full potential. That's for sure :) I thought I would be able to call it a early night but my children had other ideas.

So while the fight was on to get them to sleep at a decent hour(Miss O is still awake watching Maery Poppins). I busted out the Pringles, some sprite and Twilight. Even though I have watched it a hundred million times now when I am bored I pop it in and let my imagination take over.

I can't wait for New Moon to come out on DVD. And of course Eclipse to be released :) I will most likely buy tickets for the midnight showing again haha that was a fun night out!!!!!

So nothing is really new at our house. Just trying to juggle things around and get ready for christmas. I'm trying my hardest to get the christmas spirit but its just not there yet. I am ready for this year to end. So we can have a fresh year start and make things more positive.

I'm hoping next year will bring changes to our house. I'm hoping that this testing Miss O will go through will give her the help she needs. I'm hoping that Mr A will start preschool. We are just waiting for him to complete potty training. And I am hoping to start working and bringing in some extra income so we can do more this summer.

I really enjoyed being home with my babies but they aren't little babies anymore and I need to work. Well more like I want to work. I need that time away from the house and the kids. I'm here 24/7 and its starting to take its toll on me :)

Well I'm off to bed now. Gotta get some rest. Tomorrow (December 10th) is Miss O's parent teacher conference. I'm sure I will have A LOT to blog about after. Happy Wednesday!!!!

Sunny Sunday...

Looking out the window this is what you see. Golden leafs show the signs of autumn, they fall to the ground as winter approaches. There is a slight breeze to remind you that though it may be sunny out side its still cold and you need to keep warm.

Inside you hear the sounds of a washing machine, childrens laughters in their room as they play. You hear the sounds of a tea kettle chimming as to let you know that your water is ready.

The sounds of the Tv playing the kids favorite cartoons. A over all sunny day. You find a mother in the kitchen doing dishes, preparing for dinner and folding laundry.

Today is a pretty chill day at our house. Its the one day in the week to get ready for what follows. Laundry gets done, the house gets deep cleaned. Dinner is made baths are taken and then its time to settle down and get ready for school the next morning.

Its almost time for winter break which means no school for the kids and having them home 24 hours a day. Which has its perks. No early mornings and rushing around to get ready for school. But it also means Having siblings fighting because they dont get that break from each other as well.

This week at Miss O's school its parent teacher conferences so on Thursday i will be sitting down with her teacher to talk about how she is doing. Im preparing for bad news. Its best to prepare for the worse and hope for the best. On the 18th they are having a Christmas Pjamma party in her class. I have these cute little snowman pjs for her to wear that day :)

I have a stack of books i am behind on reading. I really havent felt like reading lately. I also have a equally large stack of books to write my personal reviews on.. havent felt like doing that either. I havent felt like doing much of anything. I guess you can say i am in a winter funk. I have people all around me yet i feel lonely. Im lost in my own little world. More than likely its just the holiday season. I seem to get this way every year. Probably because I feel like i cant give my kids the holidays they deserve.

So anyway. I might be taking a break from blogging for a while... I havent had much to say lately.

Testing Testing... Waiting Waiting...

So I just wanted to sit down and update on things with Miss O and her schooling. Its officially the first post of December. I cant believe its almost the end of the year. Anyway...

So Today i was informed of our date for the parent teacher conference which is December 10th at 9am. I called the speech therapist and talked with her because i have decided i really want to get Miss O into that alternative classroom. My daughter is only in kindergarten, she should be enjoying school not fighting me every morning on going.

So she said i needed to contact this other teacher and I did go in and talk to her. Miss O is 7th in line to get the full evaluation. Which means she wont start her evaluation until February. And she said testing takes a few months to complete so yea thats where i am. Doesnt seem fair does it?

So she has to suffer for almost the rest of the year, she also said that more than likely Miss O is going to be retained in Kindergarten again. Which is something i am already preparing for. So i guess at this point its just continueing to do all i can here at home and The speech therapist is working with her as well and just wait for this testing to be done. I feel so bad for her. I wish i could get this testing done sooner.

This delay isnt going to help her AT ALL.
